So what do you guys think of the stuff that has been announced this weekend? Yayfaces or nerdragers? :o

I think the concept is a terrible, terrible joke. But I'm not a lore nerd at all so it doesn't really affect my gameplay; I just think it's pretty dumb. I will of course roll a Monk, because I'd like another tank/healer hybrid, and the first ever "Etherdi" was a Monk in Neverwinter Nights :)

The only thing that's made me properly nerd rage so far was the suggestion that there would be daily quests linked to dungeon/raid drops. My favourite WoW advances have been the ones that make me feel that I can play when I want to and don't have to log in every day for risk of falling behind, so that concept is a step backwards for me. I hope it doesn't make it to launch.

The Pokemon pet collecting nonsense does absolutely nothing for me.

I've not seen what the rewards are from the role agnostic PvE Scenario things, but I think that's a good idea. Quite often I'll feel like blowing stuff up on Etherdi or getting in some healing practice on Lumines but can't face the pain of an LFG 5 man group, so the new Scenarios might fill that void for me.

Not decided on the new talent trees. I think the concept is more or less sound. The actual talents for the classes I'm interested in look fairly lackluster but they'll change 1098203982093 times between now and launch so I'm not going to worry about that now.

I like the theme.
In my Guild Wars-days I used to love the asian-themed expansion. Then again I liked the arab-themed expansion too, so maybe it's just the fact that you get some variation from the traditional western fantasy.

"Story"-wise it's a bit weird.
In TBC, WotLK and Cata we had a fairly good idea what was going on. Some bad guy came along and made a mess of things, and we had to go off and set things right. I'm still waiting to see why we're going to Pandaria in the first place. Our two factions should just leave the pandas alone!

As for the whole pokemon-thing, I don't mind. It fits well with MMOs being a sort of sandbox where you fart around and just do various activities.

PvE Scenarios sound interesting.
The thing I'm looking forward to most in Guild Wars 2 is the event-system, basically getting rid of quests altogether. So having this sort of thing in WoW is a good idea, but I have a feeling it'll be realized in the WoW-way of handling things, which tends to be queuing up in some sort of list and waiting, only to be ported into some sort of instanced area or phased version of the world.

The idea behind these scenarios is to make the world feel more alive and dynamic, so hopefully they won't have a BG/dungeon-style signup process or anything similar. We'll see how it plays out.

Mostly Yay face here! :D
Pandas are rather cute and a bit silly, but so are bipedal cows and sexy goats, bring on the silliness I say! Whether or not I roll one depends on the female model, and it being more cuddlesome than a female dwarf...
I just love having a toon that looks weak or homely but that can kick ass, doesn't everyone who plays a gnome feel this way?
I'm really looking forward to the pet battle system, I love stuff I can go off and do on my own when I cant sleep at 4am. While the comparison to pokemon is valid, I never played that. I backed the wrong horse way back when and played Azure Dreams a lot instead! :p

I also quite like the idea of the challenge runs, where gear is normalized, hopefully this will mean I can continue to have fun on my random alts without the pain of regrinding for reps/gear that generally puts me off and causes me to bench them.

The new areas look lovely, like saerdon I loved the asian and arab themed stuffs in guildwars, its just nice to see different styles and cultures being reimagined. Saying that I hope there is a darker feeling zone, as I tend to end up liking the netherstorms/deepholms the most.

The new talent system is an odd one, if they want to try and get away from Cookie Cutter builds surely you would accomplish that with more choices not less. I had a quick look at some of the trees and there is still a very obvious pvp/pve skill divide. I guess for me it will be like the change to Focus, where I continue to play despite it rather than actually preferring it.

Warning QQ inc!
If blizz are so intent on all things fun, give back Eyes of the Beast dammit!

Pet battle good :o
Talent change dont care tbh, maybe they will be more interesting
No real lore boss, meh...
Challenge Modes, meh
Scenarios i think will be easy and probably quite boring; but anything is better than running 2 valid dungeons and one raid.
Monks just seem like a better rogue
Pandas look cool but no druid :(

I was going to reply that I was thinking of doing it and then I had to go check exactly what the agreement was again, and now I have apparently signed up :o

So yes I will at least be playing WoW until 24th of October next year.

Since I'm not sure I'll be playing the full duration of that offer, and since I'm not sure what I think about the RL munny auction house in D3, as well as no offline-mode, I'm passing on this.
