Oh. I thought it was a deliberate choice from your current gemming choices (160 pure ints? The enchants on gloves/legs/boots are weird too! You most definitely want haste on gloves, int/crit on pants (you are reforging away a ton of spirit so its a waste atm) and haste instead of pandastep on boots because it does not stack with glyph of mind flay, wich is one of the strongest indirect dps boosts you have I dont mean to sound too inquisitive (or like a dick if you prefer Another suggestion is to watch a lot of videos with shadowpriest PoV for bosses Generic tactics are one thing, using all the possible tricks of your class to squeeze more dps is another thing |

Having a look at Sylphia’s gems and enchants, I can't see any problems with his gear what so ever. He has hit the first haste breakpoint (8085) so intellect is the best DPS increase. At this point in gear 1 int is worth more than 2 secondary stats. The only point where it will be worth stacking as much haste as possible is when you have 2 ToT trinkets and the legendary meta, due to the way RPPM works. As for the Boot enchant the speed increase is not bad, you can’t always depend on the Mind Flay glyph as it’s not got 100% uptime. As SPs suffer from movement it’s probably better with Pandaren’s Step than the haste enchant, at this point in gear. Regarding his enchants on hands and legs, they appear to give the closest to 15% hit chance without loss of stats. |

> At this point in gear 1 int is worth more than 2 secondary stats. Uhm, where are you getting this from ? Pretty much every source that i've consulted in the past and now actually says the opposite? its 0.63 w/o lmg and 0.69 with, iirc Haste becomes more important than int at around 505 ilvl and thats kinda why you gem hybrid/full haste even if you dont reach the next breakpoint and even if you dont have the LMG But you are right about the first breakpoint i didnt even think about the 8k one, i find unrealistic that a N raider in 5.3 doesnt reach the 10k one wich is usually considered the first now on the boards edit: And what i meant by his gear being work in progress btw is that he CAN! reach the 10k breakpoint by using haste gems, and thats a moderately big dps increase, i dont see the point of not going for it unless im misunderstanding something horribly here |

Most of my Information is from howtopriest.com, and as far as I am aware the 10k haste break point only affects Vampiric touch, which is a minority of shadows DPS. You recieve no procs from Vampiric Touch and its used mainly to maintain mana. The next important break point would 14873, which would give the additional tick on Devouring plague and shadow word pain. |

Are you forgetting PI/BL and the LMG procs whenever he gets it? *10124(9603) Haste - This will get you +2 ticks out all of our DoTs as a minimum. If you choose Power Infusion occasionally, this will grant you +3 ticks, while during Bloodlust you’ll have +4 ticks to Devouring Plague and Shadow Word: Pain (which share breakpoints from +4 onward). This is actually a considerable dps increase, one that doesnt make any sense to me to pass on it by choice And this is about the int: Around 505 - 524 iLvL When you start getting around this ilvl, your secondary stats start to exceed .5 of an int ratio. This means for you, that your gemming is going to change. You will gem 80 int 160 haste in red sockets, 160 hit/spirit 160 haste in blue sockets, and 320 haste in yellow sockets. Depending on the socket bonus, you will start to only go for int/haste socket bonuses(meta gem bonuses are almost always worth going for). Anything that is 525+ iLvL You are going to start having too much hit on your gear. This means the value of 160 hit/spirt 160 haste gems are going to start to drop in value. And you will most likely just gem straight 320 in any blue socket depending on the socket bonus. |

Just SIM it and see what stat will be the best for you at any given ilvl http://simulationcraft.org/ I love tinkering with it |

haste isnt just for dots now tho is it, I know nothing what so ever about shadowpriests , but - wont it also affect your GCD, amount of mind flay ticks you get during insanity, and cast times in general? Simcraft gives these scalefactors for sylphia: int = 5,09, haste = 3,20, so 2 haste is better than 1 int. Both icy-veins and noxxic suggest haste gemming at your current ilvl as well. |

I know haste at least affects the GCD nowadays |

haste does affect GCD and such but it requires perfect gameplay with 0 Movement, because during movement shadow should spam SW:P thats where intellect outweighs haste. |

Yeah that little thing called movement is something that simcraft neglects. You can change your spell prios accordingly though (if SW:P wouldn't normally be that high on the prio list). |
