As i've entered the levels of awesome people, i have had to learn that i have A LOT to learn still. As you have probably noticed when we are raiding, my numbers are rediculously casual, i thought i had the hang of playing shadow priest, but i had to admit to myself that i'm far from. To get to you guys level i need that tad more information and skill. And i'm reading forums and guides on how to cast everything properly and then also gotten some new addons that helps me track procs and stuff. But still after that my dps suck bottom.. I know i of course have to learn to play with those addons and the new playstyle. So that is what i intent to do. I cannot describe how bad i feel for having applied to this guild, looking like a big shot, and then fail this bad. It's embarrasing to raid with you guys because i'm so far behind. And i feel it is, kind of, a lack of respect from my side to join you guys in raids until i got it all under control. I want to do my part of the fights and not get carried. It matters a lot to me that i do atleast okay. I have made contact with a priest called Muzie from a top guild and he/she seems to know something about how to shadow priest.

I really doubt my worthiness of a trial spot among you guys. But i will of course keep fighting and get to learn my class... Even though i should have by now.. I totally understand if you cannot keep me in the guild because of this, but i want to say i really like it here. I know i haven't been here long, but already i feel that this is the place i want to be and grow as a player..

I have to admit, that i probably have some way to learn how to shadow priest properly. But i will learn it. Sigh sigh..

Peace out.

^^^ you can find pretty much everything down to specific boss strategies and talent choices here
Plus the community is (usually) pretty nice

Anyways dont feel bad, you are lacking set bonuses, legendary bits and the LeiShen trinket, those make quite a big difference on DPS

Yeah i've read the whole Shadow priest guide on there and it is very informative. But it's like i need the last push to really understand what it is i need to be doing on fights. So i guess finding a shadow priest mentor is the way :) But thanks for the tip mate.

Spoke with a pro Shadow priest in LFR today. He said i really needed the LMG and the cloak. And of course the trinket from Lei Shen to move to the next level. So i guess that would be my next goal.

Good luck with them, it took me 6 weeks to get my cloak D:

A more realistic upgrade would be getting 4x tier asap, my feeling is that at the moment you are overestimating the value of the heroic offset pieces.
Haste becomes much better than raw int, and the set bonuses are mandatory to maximize dps - the two piece extends (not refreshes!) the duration of the dots, and you _WANT!_ to have your empowered dots (by PI, LMG, UVoLS, etc.) last as long as possible

If you check the BiS list (http://howtopriest.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3858) you can have a more complete idea of what you should aim for

Don't worry.... You're not alone, i knda feel the same about my performance :S

I've noticed that my dps is lacking even when regarding the ilvl difference. I'm simming and optimizing quite a bit since the last raid. Try the simcraft tool, it's very usefull. I'm simming out on an avrg of 155k dps. I'm quite often a bit lower but the sim is based on a patchwork fight so getting that number without any encounter buff or lots of aoe seems impossible. It made me feel a little better about my dps at least.

Don't underestimate that we're still getting used to some encounters (a least us recruits in the guild) and that we're missing some pieces of gear that could make a huge difference (a decent weapon in my case, of which i got one last raid woot!). But myeah, I'm not sure either what gear will boost my dps enough to beat that damn gnoam monk of ours :P

Oh... If Luria is reading this: LAL!

Gnoezs, I am reading! :x

Sylphia: You are on trial as a dps. It's a given your damage and dps in raids will in the end influence if you pass the trial or not, it would be silly to say otherwise. But try to not stress out over it. You will get several chances, and you are just learning the fights still. I think it's great that you are finding ways to improve, and learning your class better, and that people in this guild has served as some form of inspiration. But just try to do your own thing and don't focus so much on everyone else. The gnome monk will always win anyway. :o

Well, the gear i have is what has been dropped. I have never really had a chance on those set pieces. I will grab it once it comes to me.

Luria: And yeah, i know. I have just never been worried about passing a trial. It's just like i had built up a cardhouse (my experience) and then it all just fell to the ground. It's horrible.
